Specialty Glass Products was founded in 1961. In the beginning, SGP produced precision glass housings for high-reliability resistors. After one year, with the accumulation of orders and diversification into thermo-compression bonding tools and thermocouple shields, the company was moved to its first industrial facility in Horsham, Pennsylvania and operated there for a period of ten months. SGP continued to grow and in 1967 it built its present facility in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. In 1995 SGP added 30% more manufacturing space and since that time has continued to add new computer controlled equipment to increase its capacities and expand its capabilities.
Today, Specialty Glass Products is deeply involved in the medical instrumentation, fiber optics and electronics industries, but it is not limited to these. Many glass product applications, particularly those in high-technology industries, can provide an opportunity for SGP to exhibit its expertise in the fabrication of precise, tight-tolerance glass parts and glass products.
